FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY GIG - 18th September 2008 @ 8:45pm
Crossroads Blues Club will be one year old in September and will be celebrating with a special event on Thursday 18th September.
The gig will feature the irrepressible…incorrigible…irredeemable…and (occasionally) irreverent…Perry Foster.

Perry is a player with a pedigree as long as your arm and has played alongside such greats as HOWLING WOLF, REV. GARY DAVIS, SLEEPY JOHN ESTES and SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON, for whom he acted as a 'minder' for a while. When he formed his `Delta Blues Band', he recruited CHRIS WOOD, later of `TRAFFIC' and a very young ROBERT PLANT on vocals and washboard!
Headlining with Perry will be the effervescent…esoteric…energetic…and (occasionally) off-the-wall…Abie Budgen.

Often referred to as ‘Robert Johnson in a Cardigan’, Abie is one of the Rising Stars on the Blues scene. She has recently recorded an album of traditional country blues with Michael Roach on guitar and Johnny Mars on harmonica and has already played several successful gigs for us at The Crossroads.
In addition, there will be shorts sets from Clive Sheard and David Bristow to give the audience a taste of what to expect from their gig the following week.

Tickets for the event are priced at £5.00 and the number of tickets is limited due to the size of the venue. Tickets are available from Ken Stratford, John Wormald, the Tower of Song venue or by searching for ‘Crossroads Blues Club’ on EBay.
