The Checkmates are a long established Birmingham band covering a range of music genres, from artists such as Neil Young, Tom Petty, The Eagles, REM, Bob Dylan, Bad Company. Always looking to mix things up, core members Derek Wood (vocals+bass), Dan Wood (vocals+guitar) and Phil Brittle (drums).
